By VBM Strategy

Tacoma, WA (November 16, 2025) – A violent collision involving a white Cadillac Escalade and a Lexus left at least one person seriously injured on Sunday, November 16, in Tacoma.

The crash happened around 6:54 p.m. at South 96th Street and South Hosmer Street. Witnesses said the Escalade slammed into the Lexus in the intersection, scattering debris across the road. The impact crushed the Lexus, trapping an occupant inside.

Emergency crews arrived within minutes. Firefighters used heavy rescue tools to free the victim from the wreckage. Medics provided emergency aid at the scene before rushing the injured victim to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the Escalade reportedly tried to flee right after the crash, prompting authorities to launch a search for the vehicle and its occupants. Officials blocked the intersection for several hours as crews investigated and cleared the wreckage. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to determine what led to the collision and to identify the fleeing driver.

The investigation remains active.

Car Accidents in Washington

Traffic collisions remain one of the leading causes of serious injuries across Washington. In high-traffic areas like Tacoma, one reckless act, a sudden turn, a distracted glance, or excessive speed can destroy lives in seconds. Victims often face broken bones, spinal trauma, or brain injuries that take months or years to heal.

The brain is a soft, sensitive organ, and sudden movement inside the skull can cause trauma without direct contact. Victims may feel dizzy, disoriented, or emotionally unsteady, which can all be signs of a possible traumatic brain injury. Immediate medical evaluation after any accident is essential. Some brain injuries develop slowly and can lead to lasting damage if not treated promptly.

Many crashes happen because of distracted or impaired driving, speeding through intersections, running red lights or stop signs, and failure to yield. Each of these actions increases the risk of a serious crash and puts other road users in danger.

Even when a crash appears moderate, the body absorbs tremendous impact. It is also important to work with a personal injury attorney familiar with car accidents in Tacoma. A skilled legal team can help victims recover compensation for medical expenses, therapy, pain and suffering, and lost wages.
